About this qualification
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge needed to manage practice and lead others in adult health and social care provision or in children and young people’s services. It has six pathways – three for adults and three for children and young people:

Advanced Practice
This qualification has been built to meet the apprenticeship framework requirements of a 90 credit qualification and must be taken by learners who are taking their qualification as part of the Higher Level Apprenticeship in Care Leadership and Management.
Who is it suitable for?
The Management pathway is suitable for Assistant Managers and Deputy Managers working in day or domiciliary services who are looking to progress their career. It is also appropriate for Managers who have not yet achieved a vocational qualification at this level.
The Advanced Practice pathway is geared towards senior practitioners who would like to develop their career but wish to remain active practitioners in the management framework.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners should be at least 19 years old. It is also recommended that they will hold a Level 3 qualification or above in a related area.
How is it assessed?
All units will be internally assessed using standard methods, such as: coursework, portfolio of evidence, practical demonstration / assignment.
